Thomas "Roger" Carr went to be with His Lord peacefully at Bow View Manor, Calgary on December 15, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Roger is survived by his devoted only daughter Donna Faye and her husband John Gould. His sister Florence Frasch of Strathmore and various nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and members of his church family at First Baptist Church, Calgary will also miss him. Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty-two years (Emma) Ann, and sister Ruth Rachwalski of Taber. Roger was born and raised in Taber, Alberta. He enthusiastically played team sports of all kinds around S Alberta and loved nature, and drawing and carving birds and animals. He was in the RCAF during WWII and became a journeyman carpenter working for the Canadian Civil Defence Department and the Alberta Government (SAIT and SA Jubilee Auditorium). Roger's life was full and varied - he loved worldwide travel with his devoted wife Ann, but when she became too ill to go, he lovingly cared for her until her death in 1994. His pride and joy was his "opera singer daughter" and he visited London England many times to hear her sing. The family wishes to thank the nursing and caring staff at Bow View Manor who provided exceptional loving care in his last days. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation at FOSTERS GARDEN CHAPEL on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 10:30am to 11:30am followed by a graveside service at Queen’s Park Cemetery at 12:00pm. A celebration of Roger's life will be held at First Baptist Church at 1311 - 4th Street SW Calgary on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:30pm with the Rev Doug Moffat, officiating who is a longtime friend and pastor. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to First Baptist Church Foundation Calgary.
