I wanted to take a moment to share what Tara meant to me—not just as a colleague, but as a mentor, and more importantly, as a dear friend.

I first met Tara when I started out with Weidner. She mentored me for years, teaching me how to be more than just a site manager. Over time, our relationship grew beyond work; she became someone I could always rely on. Even after she moved on from Weidner, she was only ever a phone call away.

I remember so clearly when I was offered a regional manager position with Timber Creek. I still loved Weidner, and I was scared to leave the company I had been with so long. Truthfully, I doubted myself—I was afraid I wasn’t good enough and that I might fail. I called Tara for advice. She calmed my nerves, helped me believe in myself, and told me something I’ll never forget: “If anyone can fix their mess, it’s you. You have more strength than you realize, and you need to believe in yourself more.” With her encouragement, I took that leap of faith, and it changed the course of my career.

Our mentorship came full circle when Tara would later call me for advice—asking me how to guide her managers through challenges. That made me so proud, knowing my mentor trusted me and respected the path I had taken. She became not only my guide in the professional world, but also someone I leaned on in my personal life. We would talk for hours—about work, about family, and about life.

I’ll never forget the day she called and said, “Are you in your office and can talk freely?” I told her to give me a minute, I needed to step out for a smoke. She laughed and said, “Haven’t you quit yet? You really need to!” That became our running joke for the next year and a half. On that call, she asked me what it would take to get me to join her at Trico. A few days later, we had lunch, and before I knew it, I was interviewing with Patrick. Within half an hour, I was offered the position, and a new chapter began.

My deepest condolences to Tara’s family and friends. Saddened to learn of her passing. She was a friend to me for many years and I also had the pleasure of working with her at Simco management. She always had a smile and treated everyone with kindness. Tara will be missed. My heart goes out to her family.

No matter how busy she was, she would always find time for anyone that needed her support and guidance. Her passion for her the work she did and her team was something I always admired in her. I will miss her greatly.

The first time I met Tara was during my interview on February 2, 2022, not knowing she would become my guiding light. Tara was such a beautiful soul, and I will forever cherish the memories of her kindness, wisdom, and friendship. She was an inspiration to all who had the honor of knowing and working alongside her.

Her compassion, vision, and steadfast commitment left an indelible imprint on our hearts and in our workplace. Tara had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her, nurturing our growth and reminding us daily of the importance of kindness, integrity, and purpose. Her warmth, wisdom, and infectious joy will be profoundly missed.

Yet, the lessons she shared and the lives she touched will continue to carry her legacy forward. She was taken from us far too soon. I am forever thankful for the time I was blessed to share with her. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.

It was with deep sadness that I, along with everyone who had the privilege of working with Tara, learned of her passing. Her talent and professionalism were matched only by the kindness and thoughtfulness she showed as a friend to so many of us. 

I will miss our conversations about travel, our shared laughter, and our spirited debates. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and loved ones.

Tara Bissell May was more than a director — she was a leader, a mentor, and a true inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of working with her. Her kindness, vision, and unwavering dedication left a mark on our hearts and our workplace. She had a rare gift for bringing out the best in people, encouraging us to grow, and reminding us of the value of compassion and integrity in all we do.
Her laughter, wisdom, and warmth will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the lessons she taught and the lives she touched. We are grateful for the time we had with her, and we will carry her spirit forward in our work and in our hearts.

Tara  - I will never forget that little girl with a big smile on her face and always happy.  She grew to be a great mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend.
