

Teresa was born in Albi, Catanzaro, Italy on October 1st, 1928. In 1958, she immigrated to Canada with her beloved husband, Pasquale Ricca. They first landed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and made their way west, settling in Calgary, Alberta, where they built a life rooted in love and hard work.
On July 11th, 1961, Teresa gave birth to her son, Roberto Ricca, who became the center of her world. She worked for many years at Hi Neighbour Dry Cleaners, and was known for her strong work ethic, warmth, and devotion to those around her. Teresa had a deep love for her family, and her greatest joys were spending time with them, cooking delicious meals, and tending to her beautiful garden.
Teresa lived a life of deep faith, reading the Bible daily and walking closely with God. For the past six years, she was lovingly cared for at Saint Teresa’s Covenant Care, where she received comfort, dignity, and compassion in her final years. Her gentle spirit, strength, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
Teresa is lovingly remembered by her sister, Zia Anna Napoli, in Florence, Italy; her son Roberto Ricca and his wife Clarissa Ricca; her granddaughter Teresa Heller and husband Jason Heller; her grandson Leon Ricca; and by her three great-granddaughters, Elika Picard, Jeah Heller, Brittin Heller, and her great-grandson Eli Picard. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Teresa is predeceased by her parents, Pasquale and Rosa Arrotta; her husband Pasquale Ricca; her brothers, Frank Arrotta (Catherine), Nicola Arrotta (Maria), Sam Arrotta (Concetta); her sister Rosa Maria Dardano (Filippo); and sister-in-law Carmela Ricca (Tomas).
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. For those wishing to pay their respects, a Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment at Queen’s Park Cemetery will follow the Funeral Service.
