Truda is survived by her loving husband Walter; her son Doug (Shona); her daughter Kathryn (Derrick); and her 4 grandsons Collin Hiller, Joshua Luce, Trevor Luce and Travis Bird. The youngest of 12 children, Truda was predeceased by her parents William and Stina Stotyn, her 10 brothers, her sister and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Monarch, Alberta in 1932, she was raised on the farm. When she ventured out into the world, she started working at Eaton’s Department Store then changed career paths to work in a dental office. Moving to Calgary in 1960, she started working for AGT where she met and married Walter, her loving husband of almost 62 years. Truda became a stay-at-home mom in 1965 to raise her children and ventured back into the workforce in 1979 at the Calgary Associate Clinic, where she retired. Truda then became a stay-at-home Grandma to her grandchildren where she helped form them into the amazing young men they are now.
She leaves us a legacy of kindness and inclusion, as she always put her family first in everything she did in her life. We will miss her forever.
