Violet was born July 6, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta, and was raised a true Calgarian. She graduated and worked in the banking industry until she married and had children. She moved to Saskatchewan with her husband and they raised their three children on a farm outside Grenfell, Saskatchewan where great memories were created that will never be forgotten. She was an amazing baker and cook and taught her children and grandchildren many great talents she had. Violet moved back to Calgary after her spouse past away in 1999. She attended the Calgary Stampede every year since then, and watched the parade, as she loved both.
Violet is survived by her daughter Rosella (Fred Kozar) of Edmonton, Alberta and their family JayCee, Frederick, Benjamin and Creinda; son David (Bev Hanson) of Regina, Saskatchewan and his four children Christopher, Monica, Amanda and Davona; daughter Ramona (Garry Goetz)of Calgary, Alberta and her two sons Gerry and Curtis, as well as fourteen great grandchildren. Violet was predeceased by her loving spouse, Gerald James Russell.
She will be forever missed by all.
