

William Bot passed away suddenly on January 20, 2017 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 81 years. Bill is survived and sadly missed by his children Monica, Jodi, and Kevin (Fabienne); grandchildren, Chris, Vicki (Dan), Colin (Jessica) Danielle (Matt) Stephen, Cassidy and Justin; three brothers, Ralph (Lenny), Peter (Ann), and Edward; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A special mention to his niece Desiree (Joe) Machauglin who took care of Bill when he returned to Calgary. Bill was predeceased by parents Peiter and Aafje, and son Ronald Bot.
Bill was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands on February 20, 1935. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 where he met and married Hanny and together had four children. Bill was owner and operator of Bot and Hansen Decorating Ltd. with his partner Thor Hansen. Bill became President of The Alberta Decorating council and also sat on the apprenticeship board of Alberta for a number of years. In 1980 Bill found himself single again; however, he soon found his new love Inge Yost. They were together for 14 years through the 90’s. Bill moved to British Columbia where he lived and worked for another 15 years and eventually ended back in Calgary to retire. Bill was a kind and caring man, who was loved dearly by all who knew him. We will all miss him until the end of time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
