Yvonne is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kimberly Dennis (Monty Chow) and beloved grandmother to Brenna Shannon (Noel Rozario); her son Edward Dennis; special sister Donna Marmei; brother Ken (Eileen) France, along with many nieces and nephews.
Yvonne is greeted in heaven by her beloved granddaughter Ashley Forsythe; her parents Henry and Ivy France; siblings Eileen, Doris, James, Cyril, Douglas and Shirley, and special nephew Byron.
Many thanks to Kathy Simon for all her caring, love and support in Yvonne’s final year.
Yvonne was born on Mother’s Day in Toronto to English immigrants Henry France and Ivy Farthing, the youngest of 9 children. She showed her Canadian pride every chance she could, which included serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force and worked with the Canadian Space Program. She loved cool cars and will be remembered in Markham for her Candy Apple Red Corvette.
Her lifelong calling to become a grandmother took her to Alberta in the 80s. Nothing brought her more joy than Ashley in 84’, then Brenna in 92’. It was in the 90s that her new title was bestowed, Muga, as she was forever known.
The family sincerely thanks the staff at Carewest for all their support.
A Memorial Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
For those wishing to attend the service via livestream, please use the link below the service information.
If anyone wishes, memorial donations in Muga’s name can be made to the Cochrane Humane Society.
