Albert Christian Beaver

Passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital, in his 85th year, on Friday June 3, 2016. Beloved husband of 62 years to his loving wife, Paula (née Sullivan). Adored father of Caroline Lichty (Fred Higgins), Suzanne Forler (Bruce) and Mary Ellen Hammer. Survived by seven grandchildren; Katharine (Adam), Patrick, Victoria, Carter, Philp, Rainey and Ryan. Dear brother of Gladys Sime (Don), Bob Beaver (Carol), Joyce Bennett (Trev), Eileen Bartels (Bill), Margie MacDonald (the late Orland) and sister-in-law Pauline. Predeceased by his parents Maurice and Margaret Beaver, predeceased by brother Maurice Beaver, brother-in law Barry Sullivan and sister-in law Catharine Sullivan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ab was a lifelong resident of Preston and employed for over 30 years at Preston Metal and Roofing Products. Ab was a great athlete and excelled in every sport he played. In his youth, Ab was a member of the Preston Scout House Band; he spent over 50 years with his family enjoying his cottage at Six Mile Lake in Muskoka. Family will receive friends on Tuesday June 7th from 7-9p.m. at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge. A funeral service will be held at St. Johns Anglican Church, 567 Queenston Rd, Cambridge, on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. A celebration of his life to follow at the Black Shop on Hespeler Road. As expression of sympathy donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
