She was the loving mother of Sabrina, Keshia (Tom), Nicholas, and Damian and proud and loving grandmother of Chloe, Miguel, Owen, Amaya, Levi, Lucas, Liam, Arielle, Thomas, and Emmett. Loving best friend and partner of Brian for 12 years. She will also be lovingly remembered by her mother and stepfather Gladys and Rosaire, her siblings Gerald (Anita), Eddie (Marilyn), Olive (Tommy), Marie (Junior), and Harvey (Annette), stepdaughters Becky, Sara, and Jessica and their families, and her beloved dog Gracie. She was predeceased by her father Harvey Newell.
Barb was born on Bell Island and the family moved to Cambridge when she was 14 years old. The most important thing in her life was her family and she valiantly fought to be here with them. She especially enjoyed spending her last few months at the trailer in the country, where family was able to visit and enjoy the peaceful setting.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church, 7 Queen’s Square, Cambridge, Ontario on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1 p.m. Guests are welcome to arrive a little early to check in and watch the photo tribute. All guests will need to provide their name and contact information, wear a face covering, social distance, and follow the instructions of the funeral home staff.
