Catherine Ellen Lawrence

Catherine Ellen Lawrence (nee Jones) passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2016. She is now reunited with her husband Glen (2013), and her parents, Harry and Catherine Jones. Loving mother of Lindy (Cleve) Dawson and Lori (Paul) Hilker. Dear Grandmother of Josh, Calla, Brianna "Bumble", Zack, Jesse, Jacob and Joel. “Grandma Melon” to Kaydance, Leah and Jackson.

Ellen was a devoted member of St. Andrew’s United Church, serving as a member of the UCW group. She fully enjoyed life; she just loved to laugh and dedicate her life to her family and doing things she loved. She was a pianist and shared her musical talents with the church. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and knitting; she was a brilliant knitter. She made cardigans, hats, toques, sweaters, baby clothing and afghans for friends and family. We will always have these special mementoes to remember her by, but most of all; we will remember her beautiful heart. The way she adored people and animals – especially her Boston Terriers Abby and Mort, her three Pugs, some cats along the way, smaller critters like hamsters, turtles – really anything that needed love, she gave it. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the staff of St. Andrews Terrace for all their care and compassion given to Mom during her stay. Our family wishes to invite you to Barthel Funeral Home for a visitation on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 10am – 11am. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11am. To honour Ellen’s love of animals, donations made in her name to the Cambridge SPCA, in lieu of flowers, would be appreciated by the family.
