With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that Gordon Anthony Bona passed away on Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at the age of 63. Gordon was an avid fisherman who won the Rainbow derby in 1988. He enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the trailer in Owen Sound, sitting by the campfire, sharing jokes and stories. Gordon was a hard worker, so he loved to kick back and watch TV when he had the chance, and he truly cherished the time he spent with his family, as well as his very special fishing buddies, Rudy, Big Bill, and Matt. Gordon will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Gwen, son Daniel, daughters Nichole (Dennis), Val-Marie (Jeff), and Kathy (Russell), five grandchildren Jamie, Holden, Brock, Madison, and Scott, his Cambridge family Cathy (Wayne) and Joan (Alex), and his Cape Breton, Nova Scotia family Sheldon, Mary (Albert), Lorna (Barry), Janet (Francis), Jean (Tom), Audrey (David), Adrian (Kate), and Michele (Kevin), and many more nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Velma and Daniel Bona, and his brother Joe. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, ON, N3H 3J1) on Friday, September 22nd from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
