Hedy Margret Caskenette

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday September 3, 2015 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 90. Hedy was born on October 20, 1924 and was predeceased by her husband Jerome (Jerry) on February 7, 2012. She will be forever missed by her three (3) children: Lynn (Bill) Strouth of Wasaga Beach, Gary (Kathy) of Port Dover and Jamie (Ingrid) of Kitchener. Hedy was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Natalie & Jennifer Strouth, Tammy Sundberg, Kathryn (Will) Frost and Stephanie Caskenette and further blessed with 5 great-grandchildren: Marissa, Brock, Peyton, Sierra and Zack. Predeceased by her parents, Katharina and Joseph Imper and brothers John and Joseph Imper. After emigrating from Yugoslavia in 1929, she resided in Preston for the majority of her life before moving to Doon Village Retirement Residence 6 years ago. Hedy was an avid golfer and member of the Doon Golf Course. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3J8 (519)-653-3251 on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 1:30pm with visitation one hour prior to service time.
