He has been welcomed into Heaven by his parents Bill and Betty Meaney, and will be deeply missed by his wife Brenda, his children Tinisha and Michael, and his sisters Christine (Dave), Debbie (Hubert), and Caroline.
He was born on March 8th, 1962 in St. John's, Newfoundland, and grew up in Mount Carmel, Newfoundland until moving to Ontario in 1982. Ken lived his 63 years with humour and grace.
Even after his cancer diagnosis 17 years ago, he met each day with strength and a smile. He found joy in life's simple pleasures; a Leafs game on the TV, a great meal, a country song to sing along to, and a good joke to make others laugh. His humour and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Ken and family on his last day.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation service at Barthel's Funeral Home on Monday, November 17th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ken's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
