Maria Sirio

Maria Sirio formerly of Fondi Latina, Italy in her 90th year passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on August 22, 2025. Loving wife of the late Gemino Sirio (2007), predeceased by her parents Ettore and Immacolata Cireno of Italy. Loving mother to Claudio (Tracey), Silvana Falcao (the late Luis) , Rita Pezzano (Mike), Carlo (Debbie) and previously deceased Ettore (Wanda). Loving Nonna to Daniela (Eddy), Andrew, John, Maria (Mel), Jason, Lisa (Mike), Enzo (Helaena), Amanda (Curtis), Blake (Morganne) and Cristian. Loving bisnonna to Brody, Arie, Adrian, Alessio, Sebastian and Frankie. Dear sister to Anna Ferlay of France, predeceased by her brothers Fortunato of Italy and Giuseppe of France. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and close friends. The Family would like to express their sincere thanks and compassionate care to her family Dr. Hondubrata, Dr. Legassie, Dr. Elbueishi and all the nursing staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. In her last year Maria resided at Chartwell Queens Square in Cambridge. The Family would like to extend their thank you to the staff and all her friends in the home that she leaves behind. Maria was a loving Nonna who always had a plate of pasta whenever her grandchildren or anyone came to visit. Her culinary skills were exceptional. If she wasn't in her kitchen, you would find her outside in her garden where she took pride in her plants and flowers.

Friends and family will be welcomed at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Wednesday, September 3rd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Vigil prayers will be at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Clement's Parish, 745 Duke Street on Thursday, September 4th at 10:30 am, interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Liver Foundation are greatly appreciated.
