

(Baptized Mary Elizabeth) was born on April 25, 1917 in Ottawa to Dr. Peter Joseph and Angelina Cecilia (nee Chapman) Moloney. Dr. Moloney was born in Penetanguishene, ON and grew up in Powassan, while Angelina was born in Los Angeles, California. Mary was the oldest child and only sister to her brothers Henry (predeceased), Father Oliver (predeceased), John (predeceased) and Peter. From Ottawa, the Moloney family moved to Toronto and then eventually to Scarborough. Mary entered religious life in the community of the Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Pembroke on August 12, 1936 at the age of 19, pronounced her first vows on January 18, 1938 and her final vows on July 3, 1941. She took the religious name of Sister St. Henry. In 1951 she was chosen to go on mission to the town of Yamasa, Dominican Republic, where she spent twenty five years in dedicated service. In 1979 she returned to Canada. In 1981 she obtained permission to join her fellow religious, Sister Mary Josephine Mulligan, in establishing a new religious community, the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate. She eventually occupied the position of Superior General for eleven years from 1996-2007, at which time she decided to resign on account of her having reached the age of ninety. Mother St. Henry passed away quietly at 4:00 am, September 3, 2013. She is survived by her brother Peter, three sisters-in-law, twenty-four nephews and nieces (predeceased nephew Francis Moloney) and many grandnieces and grandnephews. The Sisters and family will receive friends at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3J8 (519) 653-3251 on Saturday September 7, 2013 from 7-9pm and Sunday September 8, 2013 from 2-4pm. Also at Marian Residence Chapel , 640 Hillview Road, Cambridge, Ontario Sunday September 8, 2013 from 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday September 9, 2013 at 11 am from St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 210 South Street Cambridge Ontario. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery Cambridge. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate would be appreciated.
