Surrounded by her loving family at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Winnifred passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, October 2, 2013, in her 95th year, after a brief illness. Beloved wife of Robert for 63 years, cherished mother of Patrick (Ruth) of Cambridge, Christine (Kevin) Frank of Cambridge and Carolyn (Darryl) Crane of Edmonton, Alberta. Greatly missed by her grandchildren Jason (Sara) Frank of Kitchener, Melanie (Dan) Gooding of Kitchener, Brandon (Amanda) Frank of Kitchener, Rebekah (Chris) Hanna-Lozano of Sanger, California, Gordon (Tammany) Hanna of Cambridge, Julie Hanna of Cambridge, Ashlea Crane of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Cody (Katie) Crane of Edmonton, Alberta and Great-Grandchildren LilyAnne Gooding, Masen Frank and James Hanna. Predeceased by her parents George and Florinda Eisenhauer of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, her brothers Lloyd and Robert and her son, Gordon (1967). Winnifred was born in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia on November 25th, 1918 and was proud of her heritage; her ancestors were the founders of Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. She was a real "Bluenoser" with close connections to the schooners Bluenose and Bluenose II. She moved to Ontario in the 1940's and lived in Kitchener, Cambridge, McKellar, Brantford and North Dumfries over the years. Win loved to sew, knit and crochet which she continued until recently. She also enjoyed ceramic making and trailer camping while living in McKellar. She loved watching Blue Jays baseball, figure skating and curling on TV. Most of all she loved her precious Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ and looked forward to "going Home". Win had the "gift of hospitality", enjoyed baking and cooking and loved having family and friends in her home. She had a quick smile and enjoyed a real hearty laugh---especially when Darryl told stories by imitating the dog! Winnifred attended Eagle Street Christian Fellowship in Cambridge for many years and Roseville United Brethren Church in Roseville in recent years. At her request, she has been cremated and there will be no visitation. Instead, a great celebration of her life will be held at Country Hills Church, 1280 Ottawa Street S. in Kitchener on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Thank you to the caring emergency staff and fifth floor doctors and nurses at Cambridge Memorial Hospital! As expressions of sympathy, donations to Future Vision Ministries and the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME (519) 653-3251.
