Coulas, Zigmond A., January 25, 1922-Novemer 27, 2014
Passed away peacefully at Leamington District Memorial Hospital. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Darlene Luhowy, and Dianne Coulas, son-in-law Michael and grandson David Warren.
Survived by his sister Agnes Mask, sister-in-laws Wilma Schumacher, Helen Benninger and brother-in-law Alex Schumacher. Fondly remembered by his godchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Adelle Schumacher, his parents John A. and Josephine Kulas (Cybulska), his five sisters, six brothers and two son-in-laws (Ralph Luhowy and Gary Lloyd).
Zigmond was a member of St. Clement’s R.C. Church, Cambridge and the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 126. In WWII, he proudly served overseas with the First Canadian Army, Armour Corps for four years. He was employed 41 years in the construction industry and continued his talent as a skilled wood craftsman. Zigmond enjoyed his passions for the great outdoors and fishing, especially in the Paugh Lake area where he was born.
The family received friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3J8 (519) 653-3251 on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3T7 on Monday December 1, 2014 at 11 am. Interment Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Immediately following the burial, a reception was held at St. Clement's Church Hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #126 Service Sunday at 2 pm and Prayers Sunday 3:30 pm at the Funeral Home.
