Eveline (Barakat) Elias

Mrs. Eveline Elias of Fredericton, formerly of Campbellton, wife of the late Wade Elias, passed away at the age of 90 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Eveline was born on April 10, 1933 in Zgharta, Lebanon to the late Lamia Barakat and to the late Georges Barakat. Eveline lost her father at an early age and took the responsibility of helping care for her siblings. Eveline met her husband Wade while he was visiting Lebanon, and she immigrated to Canada in 1971. Eveline was a devoted wife and mother, a devout churchgoer, a spectacular cook, a warm and welcoming host, and continues to be a bright light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her two grandchildren brought her immense joy.

She is survived by her son Danny (Patty) Elias of Oromocto, her grandchildren Blake and Kate Elias, her brother, Peter and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Mariette, and her brothers Sayed and Assad.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Campbellton on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11am.

The family will welcome friends and family at Maher's Funeral Home, 22 Lansdowne Street in Campbellton on May 17 from 10am until the departure for the funeral.
