It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing John Maxwell (Max) Henderson. Max passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017. He was the husband of Janice (Clark) Henderson and was born on December 24, 1932 in Campbellton, N.B. to the late Everett and Flora Henderson.
Max is survived by his wife Janice, his daughter Susan Henderson and by his grandson Neal Anderson (Elyse McKeown). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son John Henderson and his sister Elaine Henderson.
Max graduated from Mount Allison University and pursued his degree in pharmacy from Dalhousie University. He worked alongside his father Everett at Henderson’s Drug Store and enjoyed serving members of the community until his retirement.
Max loved to spend time at the cottage and was an accomplished carpenter. He built the cottage in Escuminac, Quebec on top of a hill overlooking the Restigouche River. He and Jan enjoyed the company of the neighbours over plates of local fare, listening to their stories of old.
Later on, Max and Jan enjoyed retirement and frequent visits to the family cottage in Point Du Chene, N.B. The cottage was also well loved by their son John and his golden retrievers, who enjoyed hosting many BBQs and gatherings with his friends over the years.
