Joan Schaeffer

Joan was born on June 7, 1933 in Listuguj to the late Joseph Isaac of Listuguj and the late Edna Leboeuf of Campbellton .

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by Grandparents Thomas Isaac and Malvina Jerome both of Listuguj.

She was also predeceased by her siblings, brothers “Gullege Sr.” Leonard, Rene, Joe-Neil, Isaac, and sister Lillian Foley.

Joan worked as an feed and stock handler for Universal Box Company in Hoboken, NJ. This is were she meet her husband Bill, who provided a homemaker career for her the rest of her life. She Raised a Family in Rutherford, NJ and empty nested in Center Valley, PA. Her longing for family brought her home to Listuguj were in retirement she started doing volunteer work at St. Ann’s Church, cooking in the kitchen and managing the store for St Ann’s Day. She loved crocheting, sewing, puzzles and playing cards with friends. But most of all she loved her doll collection.

She is survived by her children: Norma ( John), Robert ( Tammy), Sandra (ex Rick).

Joan loved to have her family over and cherished her grandchildren. Joan, Dan, Beth, Tim Skala, Amy, Robert, Billy Schaeffer, Nicole, Matthew Busedu). Tim and Matt both spent a couple of summers and winter holidays with her here in Listuguj which are treasured memories.

She is survived by her sisters “ Piggee” Carol, Nora, Doris and brother Brennie. Frank Sorbey was her very good life time friend, Joan had the amazing ability to make friends wherever she went, so there’s too many to list, but know she cared for all of you and will be surely missed.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Terry, Judy Ann, Pamela, Audrey, Lita, Tracey; Gloria, Ralph, Christopher, Susie, Renee; Debbie, Julie, Tim, Kathy here in Listuguj. State side: Donna, Jim, Patty, Betsy, Peter, Sally, Ned, Jason.

A Funeral Service will be held at Maher's Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Friday, November 21, at 3:00 pm.

Visitations will be held at the Chapel from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
