Josef Kiss

Josef was born on August 28, 1936 in Horitschon, Austria to the late Josef Kiss and the late Maria Iby.

Before his retirement, Joe worked in the Dalhousie Mill. He had a great sense of humour and would often come home from the mill with hilarious stories. Joe possessed an ability to remain relaxed in any situation and was not easily ruffled. In him, we recognized the nature-lover, the great cook, and the best Grampy ever. We are thankful for Joe’s willingness to fix what was broken or to build something new. We were blessed with the best food at every occasion, and we are grateful for his gentleness, kindness and compassion.

Josef is survived by his children, Carolyn Albert (Marcel), Richard Kiss (Kathy), Terrie Chedore (Bill-deceased), Chipman Smith (Shirley), Bill Smith, his sister-in-law Elizabeth Kiss, as well as, daughters-in-law Therese Michaud, Nancy Aston and Kelly Whitford. He also leaves behind 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by is brothers Heribert and Eugen Kiss and his grandson Nathan Chedore.

A Graveside service for Josef will be held at the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Campbellton on November 27, 2025 at 2:00pm
