Dear Sharon and Family.  I was so sorry to hear of Steve’s illness and his subsequent passing. We have not been in each other’s lives for many, many years Sharon, but our friendship is an important memory to me.  I hope you find comfort in family and all your wonderful memories of Steve.

Mr. Whitzman advocated for many students to finish their high school education at SSHS, including myself. Forever grateful for him for helping me get through high school.

As a child, I was blessed to spend every summer vacation with  my Uncle Steve  and our families at a cottage in Nova Scotia. Those days are filled with memories I will always hold close to my heart.

Uncle Steve will forever be remembered as a kind, loving man who always took the time to play, to laugh, and to share his wisdom.

Rest in peace, dear Uncle. You will be greatly missed.

Spending time with Steve always felt like being in the company of a best friend. He'd feel instantly familiar and so happy to share stories, quick wit, and listen to anything you had to say. I'm immensely grateful for his presence and he will be greatly missed.

We knew Steve through the marriage of his daughter, April to our son, Paul. We will especially remember his warmth and humour on April's wedding day--a proud and happy father walking his daughter down the aisle. Steve was a great man that always had an ear for us even after we left school. He was a mentor,  therapist,  teacher, advisor,  Wiseman, and a friend to many of us. When something would happen alot of our first thoughts have been, "wish I could talk to steve" he will be missed greatly by many of students that he touched the lives of, a great man with a great legacy.

When I first  arrived in  Campbellton  to teach, Steve was at our school. I remember many great conversations. He always went above and beyond to help the students and the teachers in supporting their struggling students. RIP Steve. You will be missed. Condolences to the family.

Steve was a great man  and a great friend in his early stages if dementia he would still message me and we would have chats as it progressed the chats stopped he will always be a friend in my heart as well as Sharon who loved him unconditionally  rest in peace my friend  and my heart goes out to all his family.

When I stated to help out at the nursing home I would help out with the morning tea and I remember Steven being there and would go and get him for tea and cookies he would come to the table and a nice guy to chat with  So Steven you will  always be remember

Long chats and long silences . If we needed to talk he was always there . If we needed someone to just sit in silence with us he was there . He was a amazing man . I work with Steve for years at the alternative learning center in Bathurst. He definitely was a voice for students who were not heard. Many of our clients looked forward to their visits with Steve, every week. The most important thing he brought them was the ability to be heard. Thank you Steve. Godspeed!
