

Betty Sue Warren Richard, age 97, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on January 14, 1929, in Batesville, Arkansas to Handsel and Ivy Warren. Sue was raised in Batesville, Arkansas and graduated from Texas State College for Women (now TWU) in 1947. She marries Eddie Aaron Richard in 1949, and the couple had two children. She was a bakery owner for more than thirty years. Sue and her husband Eddie were internationally renowned bakers and owners of one of the oldest bakeries in Dallas. Superior Bakery was in operation from 1922-1984.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling the world, attending performances, listening to music, supporting family, cooking, and solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles with her grandson. After retirement from Superior Bakery at age fifty Sue and her husband Eddie resided in Crested Butte, Colorado for summers and winters. She enjoyed snow skiing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and being immersed in the beautiful scenery.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a beacon of light, unconditional love, kindness, and support. Sue’s sweet demeaner would change the feeling of any area she stepped into.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Handsel and Ivy Warren, her son Paul Richard, her daughter Renee Richard Smith and her husband Eddie A. Richard.
She is survived by her grandchildren Christopher Richard Smith, Kelly Richard, John Richard, and a great-grandson Colby Warren Smith of Crested Butte, Colorado who will be attending Columbia University.
