David "Dave" Allen Zabriskie

David, affectionately as Dave, was born to Lyra Faye Miller and John Franz Zabriskie on April 30, 1943, in Whiting, Kansas at their family home. After graduating, Dave joined the military, serving our country in both, the Navy Reserves and active duty in the Army until his honorable discharge. Dave went to work in the Airline Industry, working for Braniff International Airways, Saudi Airlines, and Sabre/American Airlines where he retired after working more than 25 years in the industry.

Dave was a loving father, brother, and friend. He traveled the world for both work and leisure and enjoyed it thoroughly. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, was an avid golfer, and loved riding his Harleys.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, John Franz Zabriskie, and step-mother, Delores Zabriskie; mother, Lyra Faye Thomas and step-father, Carol “Kayo” Thomas; siblings, Larry Thomas and wife, Sandi Thomas, Johanna Zabriskie and Kimberly Zabriskie; nephews, William Robert “Bill Bob” Pricer, Joseph Allan Atchison and Jeremiah Atchison. He was also preceded in death by his beloved companions, Scooter, Brooke, and Daisy.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tammy S. Zabriskie, Teresa A. Vomberg (Rick) and Zachary A. Zabriskie; grandchildren, Jonathan Rodriguez, Nicole Vomberg, and Ricky J. Vomberg Jr. (Kaylee); great-grandchildren, Trystan Rodriguez, Rylan W. Vomberg and one great-grandbaby on the way, Kaylan Rose Vomberg. He will also be loving remembered by his siblings, Sharon Kay Hodges, James “Jim” Thomas and wife, Margaret; Danny Thomas, Vicki Thomas, Johnny L. Zabriskie, Danny Zabriskie, and Kelly Zabriskie and her truelove, Norman and many Nieces and Nephews.

Dave's family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on April 6, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm at his home.
