Edgar Eugene Koch of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on November 26, 2024. He was 77 years old. He was born to parents Edgar and Margaret (Hicks) Koch in McAlester, Oklahoma. Gene graduated from McAlester High School and proudly served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Oklahoma State University School of Technical Training in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and spent most of his career as a computer programmer analyst. After retiring, he loved working for many more years with seniors and enjoyed assisting them with their healthcare insurance needs.
Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Kathy; his son, Russell (Becky); his two grandsons, Riley and Preston; his brother, Charles (Nancy); and his nephew, Charlie. He leaves behind many close relatives and special friends. Also surviving him is his former wife, Susan Scarbrough. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gene loved life. He found peace in quiet moments. He also loved getting together with friends and family. He looked forward to travel with new adventures and places to explore, but Branson always remained their favorite. He enjoyed listening to music and watching old classic western movies and TV shows. He was always willing to listen to anyone who needed to talk. His smile could light up a room.
He was a loving and cherished husband and soulmate, a caring father and papa, a wonderful older brother and uncle, and a genuine friend. Those who knew him will hold in their memories his kind and gentle spirit. His presence is deeply missed.
Per his request, a private memorial service was held by his immediate family.
