

Francisco “Frank” Acosta, born on December 22, 1954 in El Paso, TX, passed away on June 21, 2021 at the age of 66. Frank was a proud El Paso High Tiger (c/o 1973), an avid bowler, a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, and frequent poker player. After graduating from El Paso High, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy where he attained the rank of Sonar Technician (Surface) Seaman. He made his living as a maintenance engineer at hotels in the El Paso and Dallas-Fort Worth areas such as Motel 6, The Hilton Anatole, The Ritz-Carlton of Dallas, the Omni, and he retired in 2017 after a short-stint at the Dallas Museum of Art. He received numerous awards and accolades for his dexterity as a maintenance engineer and in 2011 was awarded 5-star team of the Third Quarter and 5-star employee of the year. His award included an all-expense paid trip to San Francisco.
He was a “people-person” who enjoyed being in the company of others when he wasn’t working or at home indulging in his favorite television shows and movies such as Family Guy, JAG, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Godzilla. On Sundays he could be found in his favorite recliner and watching the NFL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis & Candelaria Acosta; brother, John Acosta; sisters , Maria “Mary” Ruiz and Theresa “Mickey” Mendez.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Acosta; birth mother Isabel Betty Fairchild; daughters, Amanda and Linda Michele (Charles); son, Robert Jean; stepdaughter, Noelle; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
His family and friends would like to personally thank the staff at the Dallas VA Medical Center for the stellar care they provided to him during his last weeks of life. Rosary will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home located at 1060 North Carolina in El Paso, Texas at 11:00 a.m. MST on Friday, July 9, 2021. Interment will take place at Fort Bliss at 1:00 p.m. MST on Friday, July 9, 2021.
