Hector Ricardo Diaz

Hector was born on May 18, 1938 to Hector Luis Diaz and Elvira Inés Carmona in San Bernardo, Chile. It was there he lived until he met his wife, Mariana, and immediately fell in love in 1962 at the age of 24. They lived together in Puente Alto, Chile, and shortly after the birth of their son, Hector, they moved all the way to the United States in 1969.

After starting a new life in New Jersey, Hector and Mariana would welcome their daughters, Paula and Elizabeth. In New Jersey, they raised their 3 children, and in 1987 moved to their permanent home of Carrollton, Texas.

Hector retired at the age of 80 and dedicated his life to his family. He had a work ethic and drive unlike most. He had a passion for watching futbol, and playing the sport well into his 60s. He had deep pride in his Chilean roots that he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was a reserved man who kept his circle close, but those who knew him were incredibly lucky to experience his sense of humor and the love he had to give.

Hector is preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Inés Carmona; father, Hector Luis Diaz; and brother, Carlos Hugo Diaz. He is survived in death by wife of nearly 58 years, Mariana Diaz; children Hector Rudolfo Diaz, Paula Andrea Singleton, and Elizabeth Alejandra Diaz; grandchildren Chloe Costa-Green and husband Ryan, Victoria Meador (Diaz) and husband Braden, Owen Singleton, Lillian Singleton, Olivia Cochran, and Natalie Cochran; sisters Elvira “Dita” Eliana Meléndez, Amalia Angelina Norambuena, Edith Magaly Díaz, and Lucia Janet Carmona. Hector was also preparing to become a great grandfather for the first time to a set of twin great grandsons.

Héctor Ricardo Díaz “Dito”, 85 años, de Carrollton, Texas, falleció el miércoles 31 de enero de 2024.

Héctor nació el 18 de mayo 1938 de Héctor Luis Díaz y Elvira Inés Carmona en San Bernardo, Chile. Allí vivió hasta que conoció a su esposa, Mariana, y de inmediato se enamoró en 1962, a la edad de 24 años. Vivieron juntos en Puente Alto, Chile, y poco después del nacimiento de su hijo, Héctor, se mudaron a los Estados Unidos en 1969.

Luego de comenzar una nueva vida en Nueva Jersey, Héctor y Mariana darían la bienvenida a sus hijas, Paula y Elizabeth. En Nueva Jersey, criaron a sus 3 hijos y en 1987 se mudaron a su hogar permanente en Carrollton, Texas.

Héctor se jubiló a los 80 años y dedicó su vida a su familia. Tenía una ética de trabajo y un empuje como la mayoría. Le apasionaba ver fútbol y practicar este deporte hasta los 60 años. Estaba profundamente orgulloso de sus raíces chilenas que transmitió a sus hijos y nietos. Era un hombre reservado que mantenía su círculo cercano, pero quienes lo conocieron tuvieron una suerte increíble de experimentar su sentido del humor y el amor que tenía para dar.

A Héctor le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Elvira Inés Carmona; padre, Héctor Luis Díaz; y hermano, Carlos Hugo Díaz. Le sobreviven en la muerte su esposa durante casi 58 años, Mariana Díaz; los niños Héctor Rudolfo Díaz, Paula Andrea Singleton y Elizabeth Alejandra Díaz; sus nietos Chloe Costa-Green y su esposo Ryan, Victoria Meador (Diaz) y su esposo Braden, Owen Singleton, Lillian Singleton, Olivia Cochran y Natalie Cochran; hermanas Elvira “Dita” Eliana Meléndez, Amalia Angelina Norambuena, Edith Magaly Díaz y Lucia Janet Carmona. Héctor también se estaba preparando para convertirse en bisabuelo por primera vez de un par de bisnietos.

Se llevará a cabo una visita de ida y vuelta en Metrocrest Funeral Home & Memorial Hilltop Park en Carrollton, Texas, el lunes de 5:00 a 8:00 p. m. Se compartirán palabras sobre Héctor a las 6:00 pm.
