Hector grew up in Lockney, Texas where he made many friends and even more memories. In school he was a natural athlete who competed in many sports, including cross country racing, where he excelled. A few years after graduating from LHS, Hector met Ruth Elaine, who he married a few years later. In 1991, Hector and Ruth Elaine welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Sabrina Nicole. In 1995, the young family relocated to the Dallas area. Hector continued his welding career, which had begun at the Tye Company in Lockney, at a company called Thycurb Inc. In 1997, Hector and Ruth Elaine welcomed their second child together, a son named John Thomas, aka JT. Hector was a very proud dad, who enjoyed cheering on his kids at band and sporting events. He never missed a game.
In 2017, Hector walked his daughter down the aisle, and welcomed Gino Gotelli to the family, as his son-in-law. It was a beautiful ceremony topped off with fireworks over the lake, which was one of his favorite sights to see.
In 2010, Hector earned his Commercial Driver’s License, and began driving professionally for Ocean Beauty Seafoods, where he was highly valued until his departure in 2020.
Hector was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was a kind man, the type of person to help someone stranded on the side of the road. He believed in leading by example, and treating others how he'd like to be treated. Hector was also a loyal and hardworking employee, whose can-do attitude, innovative thinking, and great sense of humor made him many friends along the way.
When not hard at work, Hector loved to have a good time. He enjoyed fishing on the lake, going to classic car shows, and having fun in the sun with his family.
Hector had such a strong spirit and fought cancer with everything he had. He very rarely complained, no matter how painful or disgusting things were. Even near the end, he found the strength to celebrate Christmas with his family. It was a beautiful day filled with love and laughter, just like his life.
Though his passing leaves a giant hole in our lives, we are comforted knowing that he is no longer in pain. He was much loved, and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Ruth Elaine Molina, Carrollton, TX, son, Kevin Hernandez, Amarillo, TX, daughter Sabrina (Gino) Gotelli, The Colony, TX, son J.T.
