James Dwayne Winters

James Dwayne Winters went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 1, surrounded by his family. Jim was born April 6, 1937 in Corpus Christi to James Henderson Winters and Evelyn Birmingham Winters. He went to W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi and attended the University of Texas. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Sally Udstuen Winters. Jim is survived by a sister, LaVerne Tedder and husband Wayne, daughter Lynda Devenport and husband Jeff, daughter Kimberly Gautier and husband Steve, son Jim Winters and wife Laurie, daughter Debbie Welter, daughter Jennifer Winters, son Michael Winters and wife Stephanie, step children Tamara & Frank Deel, Stephen & Jennifer Udstuen, Stacy & Ila Jehl and Thomas & Erika Udstuen, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial is planned for Friday, May 6 at 2pm at The Heights Baptist Church, Richardson. Visitation: Thursday 6 to 8 pm Metrocrest Funeral Home, Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
