Lisa Ann Blevins Depew was born in Lancaster County in Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania on February 17, 1960, into a family of seven with two sisters and two brothers. During her time in High School, she ran Track and was a cheerleader. Following high school, Lisa attended York College in Pennsylvania for two years where she committed her life to the Lord and at the age of nineteen left Pennsylvania to plant churches and complete her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education while attending the University of Texas at Austin.
After graduation, she immediately moved to Dallas in the mid-1980’s and began her career as a schoolteacher at the Christian based schools of Lexington Academy, American Heritage Academy, and Prestonwood Christian Academy. After years of teaching in primary education, Lisa made a career change and moved into the business field during the early 1990’s, starting off with a short stint in medical sales. Her next career move was employment at Fort Worth based American Airlines where she started as a Field Service Representative and Technician for the Sabre Travel Information Network (STIN). While at STIN, Lisa was promoted to Analyst for International Installations and finally to National Accounts Manager where her primary client was American Express. During her role as Account Manager at American, Lisa won many prestigious awards and honors and was chosen to be a part of a select team which traveled to Washington D.C. to implement the STIN network inside the White House during the Clinton Administration.
Following employment at American Airlines, Lisa spent a brief time as a Technical Recruiter. However, from 2001 through the end of the decade she activated her strong Sales and Marketing skills and formed her own consulting business in Hospitality Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Industry. The last third of her business career was spent working in various Sales & Marketing roles in the medical field as she served as Account Executive, Director of Business Development and as Client Service Director in Behavioral Health Care Services and as Home Health & Hospice consultant.
Appurtenant to her many years of business service, Lisa became a member of many other professional organizations and obtained additional business certifications. She was a Greater Dallas Chamber Ambassador Club Member and was named Ambassador of the Month on numerous occasions. She was also a speaker for the Alzheimer's Association and had multiple appearances on WFAA Channel 8 News in that capacity. Lisa became a Certified “Matter of Balance Coach” speaker for Fall Prevention for the Senior Living Community. Additionally, she enrolled in many Sherpa Executive Coaching classes and became a Certified Health & Wellness Coach with a specialty in Nutritional Counseling. She studied the “Life Languages” and obtained a Life Language Instructor certification as well. Lisa served as President of the Businesswomen’s Counsel, President of the Flower Mound Chapter of Women of Visionary Influence (WOVI) and was a member of Exceptional Women and the Dallas Dream Team.
Lisa was miraculously saved by Jesus Christ in a muddy field in Pennsylvania at the age of nineteen and her entire adult life was devoted to her Faith and the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
In early adulthood, while still single, she led many church single’s groups, sang in the choir, and participated in various church activities. When Lisa met David Depew in 1993 and later married in 1996, they embarked on a journey as an inseparable ministry team, often leading Bible studies, hosting missionaries, and inviting guest speakers from all over the world to come and speak in their home.
Lisa had a passion for collecting tea sets and used them as a ministry tool by developing a teaching curriculum and hosting “Queen Esther Teas” where she entertained pastor’s wives throughout the Metroplex. Eventually she was invited to begin guest speaking at pastor’s and women’s conferences throughout the United States and became a respected Bible teacher, conference speaker, author, and radio & television guest. Lisa also became an Ordained Master Chaplain where her primary focus was on intercessory prayer. It was during this time, that Lisa also undertook additional roles in the starting of many churches and various ministries throughout the United States.
Early in her walk with the Lord, Lisa heard a call to “Do Good to Jerusalem” and she lived up to the mandate throughout her life. She began her dedicated support for Israel and the Jewish people by co-hosting and participating in “Israel Conferences” in the early 1990’s followed by her first of seven overseas trips to Israel in 1997.
Lisa served for many years as the Texas State Coordinator for the International “Day to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,” a worldwide prayer event occurring on the 1st Sunday of each October involving over 175 nations. Subsequently, she was formally commissioned by the Senior Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and the Co-Chairman of the Israeli Knesset Christian Allies Caucus as an official “Watchmen on the Wall” for Israel.
Lisa earned an associate’s degree from the Institute of Hebraic Christian Studies (IHC), and she had the privilege to study under some of the foremost Hebrew Scholars, Rabbis, and Teachers of our time, gaining valuable insight into the Hebraic roots of our Christian Faith. Much time was spent forging stronger ties between Christians and Jews through her work with various Jewish Ministries, the Jerusalem Mayor’s Office, with members of the Israeli Knesset as well as the Prime Minister’s office. Additionally, she participated in supporting many humanitarian and relief organizations benefitting the poor, widows & orphans, and holocaust survivors in the land of Israel.
For nearly 10 years, Lisa with her husband David, were volunteers at the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute (MJBI) where they served in multiple capacities. Their primary responsibilities during the annual banquet were to attend to and provide personal assistance to the guest speakers including President George W. Bush, Governor Rick Perry, Lt. Colonel Oliver North, Governor Mike Huckabee, Glenn Beck, Phil Robertson, Jay Sekulow, Lt. General Jerry Boykin, Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, and Emmitt Smith.
Along with her husband, Lisa discipled, mentored, and counseled students from many different nations attending Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas and helped to acclimate them to the many customs of the United States while hosting them in their home during the holidays and special occasions.
She enjoyed and spent much of her time in later years with her family and the dear friends of her fellowship from the Nathaniel Fellowship of McKinney, Texas.
Her overarching desire was to expand the Kingdom of God by teaching, encouraging, and equipping women to walk in bridal intimacy and to prepare the Bride of Christ for “such a time as this.” Her emphasis was focused on sounding the trumpet and awakening the church to fully comprehend and regain its identity in Christ and His Kingdom through its Biblical Judeo-Christian Heritage and its purpose for the last days.
Lisa was a lifetime achiever whose life was marked by excellence in business and service to others in the Kingdom of God. She was fearless and daring. She faced every challenge in life with a faith in God that was bold, courageous, uncommon, unwavering and could “never” be shaken.
Many of Lisa’s personal hobbies & activities included studying health & nutrition, researching and reading for all types of general education, traveling to Israel, photography, spending time at the Dallas Arboretum, singing in the church choir, teaching, entertaining & sponsoring women’s tea parties and spending quality time ministering with her husband David of 28 years.
