

Mary Ellen Chaillot passed away on November 16, 2016 in Carrollton, TX. She was born on September 8, 1927 in Dallas, TX to Robert and Minnie Erwin. Mary attended Sunset High School in Dallas and graduated in 1947. She then attended the University of Texas and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education. She went on to continue her education and earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling, also at The University of Texas. Mary previously lived in Port Arthur, TX and taught high school Biology. In 1960, she moved to Dallas and became a high school counselor. Mary met Bill in Biology class at The University of Texas and they married in 1954. Together they had two children, Cathy and Billy. In 1961 they began dog obedience training classes. She later took up tracking, conformation and field showing and actively participated into the 2000’s. Mary and Bill together built Hounhouse Kennel in 1970. In 1973, they built Hounhouse Dog Training School and actively participated in training people and children to train and show dogs at AKC events. In the 2000’s, Mary contracted Scoliosis and had to quit training and showing by 2010. A Visitation will be held on Saturday at Parkway Hills Baptist Church from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation.
