Michael James Rowan

Michael James Rowan, 68, of The Colony, TX passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2021. He began his life in Fort Dodge, Iowa on July 28, 1952. Throughout his youth his family lived in many places due to his father’s work. During his high school years he played football and baseball for Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, NE and Pius X in Lincoln, NE.

Mike graduated from the University of Nebraska. He retired from State Farm, which he worked for 15 years. He loved to golf and fish on his days off, and watch all things sports. He was a family man that loved playing with his grandkids. Mike never met a stranger. He loved people well and loved to make people smile.

He is survived by his wife of 41.5 years, which he met in 1974 and married in 1979. Daughter Ashley, husband Josh. Daughter Michelle, husband John. Grandkids Knox, Levi, and Olive which he adored. Sisters Janie, Theresa husband Mark. Brothers Pat wife Sue, Bob wife Joy, Sister in law Carol, Mike’s late brother Ron. Mother in law Norma, Brother in laws Paul wife Linda, Mark wife Deb, Stan wife Lisa, Dan wife Carol. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

He persevered through many medical problems with dignity and grace. He passed away with his wife and daughters by his side.

He will be greatly missed.

Memorial Sunday May 30, 2021 at 1:30pm at Fellowship Church, 2450 N Hwy 121 Grapevine, TX 76051. Gathering to celebrate his life afterwards.
