Renée was born on November 11, 1970, on the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation in Eagle Butte, S. D., to Abel and Ellen Redbird (Flyinghawk). She is a great-granddaughter of Chief Flying Hawk of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. In May, 1978, she and her sister, Kristin, were adopted by Jim and Linda Neill and moved to Kansas City, MO., and to Carrollton, TX, in 1979. She grew up in Carrollton and graduated from Newman Smith High School in 1989.
She loved her Dallas Cowboys and next to them were the KC Chiefs. She loved her children dearly. She would dress up at Halloween as a witch so she could greet all the trick-or treaters at the front door. Going to thrift stores and antique car shows were some of her pastimes. She always wanted to help others and had a cheerful word or a positive post on Facebook. As children as well as adults, Kris and Renee were attached to each other at the hip. Renée desperately missed her sister. No doubt since their reunion on Sunday, they must be up to some mischief.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Kristin Heslet, her father, Jim Neill and her birthmother, Ellen Redbird.
She is survived by her children: David James Wilkinson (Casey), Cherryvale, KS., Trevor King Neill and Kristin Rheann Murphy, Bentonville, AR.; her mothers, Linda Birdsong and Kathy Neill, 5 grandchildren, nephews Brad Heslet and Travis Heslet (Alexis) and her friend of many years, Glenda Christian and her fur baby, Precious.
