Rose Marie Cook

Rose Marie “Polly” Cook was born September 25, 1943 in Evansville, IN, the daughter of the late Rosalee (Cook) Ward. She passed away peacefully on July 25, 2017 at the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano, TX.

Polly was the second oldest of six children. She was raised in Evansville, IN where she graduated from F.J. Reitz High School, class of 1961.

Polly devoted much of her life to raising her son, Jason. As a single mother, she overcame many challenges to provide a stable and loving home. She always encouraged and challenged him to reach his potential. Polly enjoyed movies, reading, and playing games and being with family and friends.

She is survived by her siblings, Peggy Hogge of Morganfield, KY, Rosie Rider of Evansville, IN, Julie Franklin (husband Lanny) of Evansville, IN, Gobel Ward Jr. (wife Rose) of Newburgh, IN, and son Jason (wife Jill) of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Tornatta. Polly was a loving grandmother or “Grammy” to her three grandchildren, Emma Grace, Nixon Andrew, and Nolan Anders.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Calvary Hill Cemetery in the San Juan Diego Lot 53 located at 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Following the service, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the home of Jason and Jill, 9047 Guildhall Drive, Dallas, TX 75238.
