CASA GRANDE - Angela Contreras Cortez, 82, of Casa Grande died on Aug. 18, 2016, at Gift of Grace group home in Gilbert.Ms. Cortez was born on Aug. 2, 1934, in Fabens, Texas, to Pablo and Evangelina (Ruiz) Contreras. She was a hard worker with a tough spirit. She loved to cook for her family, and tacos were her favorite. She also loved to dance and sew. Her abilities as a seamstress were known far and wide.Survivors include a daughter, Christina Cortez; a son, Juan Cortez; six sisters, Ida Celaya, Josie Enriquez, Elena Rodriguez, Ramona Alvarado, Manuela Torres and Lupe Rodriguez; a brother, Frank Contreras; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Pablo Contreras, and a sister, Maria Ortega.Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 10.
