CASA GRANDE - Thomas Wayne "Tom" Stephens, 70, of Casa Grande, a longtime farmer and agribusinessman, died on Oct. 25, 2015, at home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 11, with Pastor Tim Pruit officiating. Burial will be Saturday in Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. Mr. Stephens was born on April 25, 1945, in Casa Grande and was a son of Debb V. Stephens and Gladys Johnson. He farmed in Arizona and Oklahoma, was a custom harvester and owned a trucking company.He was Catholic and attended St. Anthony of Padua Church in Casa Grande. He was one of the founders of Cowboy & Indian Days in Casa Grande and was active in agricultural organizations. He was a member of Elks, Los Conquistadors and West Pinal County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse. Most of all he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Gail; two sons, Tommy Stephens of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Jeff Stephens of Casa Grande; three daughters, Pam Bensley of Atoka, Sherry Hamilton of Casa Grande and Lorretta Rochelle of Rockford, Illinois; a brother, Don Stephens of Casa Grande; a sister, Debbie Hansen of Casa Grande; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cathie.Memorial contributions may be made to the local FFA organization.
