Charles Anderson

Charles Kenneth Anderson, age 89, of Kelso, Washington passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Kenny was born in Cartoochechaye, Franklin,Macon County, North Carolina on Dec 26th, 1934, the son of Charles R. Anderson and Sylvia C. Dills Anderson.

Kenny was known as “Tarheel” by his many friends.

Kenny is survived by his son Kenneth Richard Anderson and grandsons Chris, Cole, Reese, Joey and Billy Anderson; by three sisters Alice Frizzell (Roy), Mary Sego and Gayle Ashbach (David); and three brothers Robert Anderson (Cheeri), Ted Anderson (Marlene), and John Anderson (Janine). He is survived by one maternal aunt Annie Steiner (Al).

Kenny also is survived by his long term partner and caregiver Jean Skiles of Kelso, Wa.

He is survived by three stepdaughters Carlotta, Alana, and Tomi (formerly Spencer); and by a great many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Cordelia Anderson Hadley. He was preceded in death by his wife Olga Rose Anderson; three sisters, Rebecca Mudgett, Margie Guffie and Joann Gardinier; one brother Ray Anderson; brother-in-laws, Ron Sego, Odell Guffie and Lattie Self; and by three nieces, Kay Guffie (Reed), Gloria Guffie and Vicki Frizzell (Swihart); and great nephew Jeremiah Johnson.

Kenny was baptized at Hamilton Baptist Church in Hamilton, Washington by the Rev. Theodore Smith.

He attended schools in Franklin, Macon County, North Carolina and Concrete, Washington. He loved animals, especially dogs and horses, he loved motorcycles, hotrods, cars and motorhomes which he often restored. It was a hobby that he shared with his nephew and friend Doyle Guffie of Rallye Auto. He lived a full life which included his rodeos, ranching, numerous hobbies, working in the logging with his dad, and retired from the Widco where he worked as an operating engineer.

A graveside service will be held at Grand Mound Cemetery (6300 183rd Ave SW, Rochester WA 98579) on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, at 10:00am.
