Darla Lee Matchett

Darla attended Harmony Grade School in Bellingham and graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1958. In 1963, she married Gary Matchett and moved to Packwood to begin her family where she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She and Gary were married 59 years before his passing in 2022. She loved being surrounded by her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed Seahawks football, Mariners baseball, an occasional trip to the casino and visiting Laughlin, Nevada.

Darla is survived by her children Michael (Tonja) Matchett, Michelle Heslep, Mark (Kimberly) Matchett, and Matthew (Michelle) Matchett; grandchildren Kristin (Stephen) Whittaker, Jory (Rebecca) Heslep, Ashley (Tim) Shaw, Matia Heslep, Kyle Matchett, Katelyn Matchett; and her eight great-grandchildren Alexis, Jenna, Adaline, Bristol, Maverick, Kaden, Lily, and Eilo.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Debbie Brown, nephews Marty (Christie) Brown and Paul Moran, and niece Tammy Irving.

She was predeceased by husband Gary, her sisters Cheryl Irving and LaVerne Moran, son-in-law Rory Heslep, brothers-in-law Douglas Brown and Steven Irving, and nephews Jason Brown and Jim Moran.
