Debra Lynn Hanson

Debra Hanson, age 65, of Centralia, Washington died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at the Sharon Care Center in Centralia, Washington. A funeral Mass to honor her life will take place on March 11, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Chehalis. Rosary will take place prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis with a reception to follow at Sticklin Funeral Home, 1437 South Gold St., Centralia.

Debra Lynn Hanson was born in Iowa, in 1956, to Roger and Cecilia Hanson. She grew up in Humboldt, Iowa; Riverdale, North Dakota; Coulee Dam, and Centralia, Washington. Debra graduated from Centralia High School in 1974. In 1985, she was united in marriage to Wayne Lind at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey. Debra and her family lived in several communities including Centralia, Olympia and Lynden. In addition to raising her family, Debra worked for Mother Joseph Care Center and Christian Health Care as a social worker. She was highly regarded due to her sense of humor and caring, loving nature.

Debra enjoyed camping, painting, gardening and playing cribbage. She was a talented artist and iconographer. She loved painting flowers and writing religious icons. Debra enjoyed camping adventures with family and friends in her motorhome. Several of her favorite travel destinations included Perrigin Lake, camping along the Umpqua River in Oregon and the tulip festival in Mount Vernon, Washington. She was a devout catholic and an active member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Chehalis and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey.

Debra will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Matthew Lind and his wife Erin; her two granddaughters Bailey and Jovie; her sister Judy; her two brothers Bob and Tim (Beth); as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Cecilia Hanson, and former husband Wayne Lind.
