A proud graduate of W.F. West High School, Class of 1958, James went on to attend the University of Washington in Seattle, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1964 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. A proud veteran, James served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1964. Outside of his professional life, James loved to travel and cherished visits to Denmark, Sweden, Scotland, and Hawaii (twice). He was also a familiar figure around Chehalis, known for his long walks through town and his enthusiastic support for the Chehalis Community Library restoration project.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William Duncan Turner Sr. and Thelma M. Turner, and his brother, William Duncan Turner Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Eva Turner; his son, Nelson Turner; and his cherished grandchildren, Kate and Erik Turner.
