

Joann Louise McLaughlin, 81, of Rochester, Wash. passed away at home on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Joann was born on October 16, 1931, in Chehalis, Wash. to Joseph Allen and Frances (Williamson) Kray. She had three brothers, Sonny, Ted and Skip and one sister, Darlene. Joann attended and graduated from Onalaska High School in 1950, she later graduated from Beauty School in Seattle as a Beautician. On September 15, 1956, Joann married the love of her life, Wallace William McLaughlin, in Centralia, Wash. Together they caringly reared four children, Donna, Erin, Jason, and Bret.
Joann was a beautiful and practical woman who lived a grace-filled life; the celebrations and hardships she experienced, each moment was an offering to the Lord. Simply put, Joann loved the Lord, with all her heart, with all her soul, with all her mind, and with all her strength. In her spare time, Joann enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and word searches. Her most treasured memories were created during family gatherings, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them mature into young adults.
Joann is survived by her husband, Wally, of 56 years, daughters, Donna (Russ) Bayne of Forks, Wash. and Erin McLaughlin of Rochester, Wash., sons, Jason McLaughlin of Rochester, Wash. and Bret McLaughlin of Monroe, Wash., grandchildren, Bryan (Chelsey) Bayne of Centralia, Wash. and Heather Bayne of Chehalis, Wash, and brothers, Ted Yoncher and Skip Yoncher both from Alaska. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Yoncher, in 1973, father, Joseph Kray, in 1987, brother, Sonny Kray, in 1949 and sister, Darlene Bullock, in 1967.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia, Wash., followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, Wash.
