

John was a lifelong resident of Lewis County; he lived for being outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being home, working the land, and taking care of his cows. John retired from L & E Bottling in 1993 after 38 years of service. Over the course of his life, John was involved in the Eagles and Elks Clubs. John will be missed by the many friends and acquaintances he made throughout his life; one being his lifelong hunting partner and neighbor, Ralph Leggett.
John is survived by his wife, Alene; sisters Joanne Calvin, Janet Plumb, and Joyce Davis; stepchildren, Jeanne (Cory) Conner, Jodi Laverell, and Bill Dawes; daughter, Annette Tauscher; grandchildren, Katie (Tim), Dana (Annah), Mariah, Lacey, Jamie, Sydney, and Avery; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; older brother Jimmy; and his aunts and uncles.
If desired, donations may be made in John’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital or the charity of one’s choice. A memorial service will be held in John’s honor on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 1:00pm, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, 1437 S. Gold Street in Centralia, with a potluck reception immediately following at the same location.
