Kathleen Elizabeth Sevier

Kathleen Elizabeth Sevier, 78, passed away July 31, 2022. She was born May 23, 1944 in Marshfield, Oregon, known now as Coos Bay, to Horace M. Harris and Alice May Harris. Kathleen had three siblings, Joann, Charles (Bud) and Marilyn.

In 1962, she graduated from North Bend High School in North Bend, Oregon. After high school, Kathleen married LeRoy W. Arrington in Coos Bay, Oregon in 1963. Kathleen continued her education by attending the Academy of Criminal Justice in Seattle, Washington and received her certificate for Adolescent Counseling, graduating in 1988.

In 2001, Kathleen married Dennis Sevier in Circle, Alaska.

She worked for Pe Ell School District for eight years, holding many job titles including bus driver, teacher’s aide, custodian and library aide. Kathleen was a detention officer for Lewis County Juvenile Court Division for three years. She drove bus for Grey Lines of Alaska, as a tour bus driver and Laidlaw Transit, as a bus driver.

Her hobbies included reading, sewing, crocheting and beach combing.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Horace M. Harris and Alice May Harris; sisters, Joann Harrison; brother, Charles (Bud) Harris; daughter, Sara Powers; and husband Dennis Sevier.

Survivors include sister, Marilyn Foster; sons, Wayne (Brandy) Arrington, Alen Arrington, Evan (Kendra) Arrington and Hal (Vicky) Arrington; grandchildren, Chelsea Arrington, Erin Owens, Lauren Zie, Colby Arrington, Amber Toepelt, Austin Arrington, Aidan Red Arrington, Cody Powers, Brynn Arrington, Cash Arrington and Sara Arrington; great-grandchildren, Kieran Dennison, Caroline Smiley, Maisyn Toepelt, Grayson Toepelt and Jackson Arrington; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held August 12, 2022 at 1 PM at Claquato Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
