April 28, 1924 - November 17, 2018
Beloved man of God, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Lawrence Jamerson entered his rest in Heaven after what he called a “full and blessed life”, at the age of 94. Larry was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Orthal Jamerson and Mable Hunt. His family moved around following work, taking on many different jobs including Larry’s favorite, cherry picking. Larry fancied himself to be the best cherry picker in the state. By the time Larry reached the fourth grade, his family settled in Buckley, Washington.
At the age of 17, Larry enlisted in the military, where he served in the Army as a paratrooper in WWII in the 101st Airborne. His missions included flying supplies to troops and hauling gasoline to General Patton. He was a survivor of five suicide missions, to which he gave credit to the Lord.
After Larry returned home from the war, he found his sweetheart Arlis and their life began. They were married in 1948 and brought two beloved daughters into this world. Aside from God and family, working was one of Larry’s passions. He took pride in building houses from the ground up. He had many different jobs throughout his life; he was a chicken farmer, a realtor, and a machinist for Boeing, just to name few. He owned multiple businesses including Jamerson Plumbing and Electrical Supply and a hardware store in Rochester, WA. He mastered every job, handled every step and proved his desire for success countless times.
In his spare time, he enjoyed attending church, traveling, and fishing. There are far too many experiences to recount in Larry’s 94 years of life, but he was always up for an adventure and made many memories along the way. He is proceeded in death by daughter Linda Riveness, and wife Arlis Jamerson. Survived by brother; Marv, daughter; Nancy Doughty, many great-grandchildren and several other close friends and family who will all miss him dearly.
