The Lord came for Nora Johnson at the age of 92, at Oakwood Haven, Centralia, Wash. Nora was born on
February 6, 1921, in Dryad, Wash., to James Stiltner and Caldonia (Cook) Stiltner.
In 1947, Nora moved to Washington from Alexandria, Va. with her family and son, Jesse Harris. She married Frank W. Sloby, of Mossyrock, Wash. and had two daughters, Virginia (Sloby) Frieburg of Tumwater, Wash. and Anna (Sloby) Ellsworth of Woodinville, Wash.
Nora was widowed in 1957 and moved back to Centralia to be near her two brothers, Ray Stiltner (and family) and James Stiltner (and family); and sisters, June Wray (and family) and Merline Canfield (and family).
Nora loved her family so much! She always had a fresh pot of coffee ready with homemade pies, cakes, and cookies for anyone who stopped by for a visit. Nora also enjoyed babysitting in the nursery at Centralia Christian Church, it was a great opportunity to hold and kiss babies.
In 1966, Nora’s son, SSGT Jesse Harris was killed in Vietnam.
In 1967, Nora married the love of her life, Leea Johnson, of Tenino, Wash. They shared 35 years of marriage until his passing in August of 2002.
Nora is survived by her daughters, Anna and Virginia; sisters, June of Centralia and Artia of Kentucky; brothers, Ray of Vancouver, and James of Rochester; five grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; four stepchildren and several stepgrandchildren.
A special thanks with love to Oakwood Haven in Centralia, owner, Denise and staff, Jessica (son, Lincoln), Miranda (son, Ezra), Max, Gia, Donna, Vanessa, Robyn, and Angela, and Assured Home Health and Hospice of Centralia. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful care
