

Norman James Brown, a beloved resident of Centralia, Washington, passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on July 17, 1936, in Mason City, Washington, to his parents Clarion Brown and Winnie Libby. Norman had eight siblings, Mel Siemers, Deborah Siemers (Edwards), Ed Siemers, Richard Siemers, Vikiy Siemers (Garay), Judy Siemers (Davis) including his additional sisters Martha Poenitch, and Mary Jeffries.
At the age of 15, Norman tried to enlist in the army but was denied due to his age. However, he later joined the National Guard Reserves then enlisted in the Navy where he had the chance to go to Japan, which he fell in love with. On November 17, 1956 He married the love of his life, Kathleen Marie Stewart. Together, they raised four beautiful children named Robin Ann Brown, Edward James Brown, Pamela Louise Brown (Craddock), and Tony Ray Brown.
Norman dedicated four years of his life to the military for the love of his country. Following his military career, he kept himself busy exploring multiple careers as a D.C. Transit driver in Washington D.C. Norman then later moved to Pe Ell, Washington as the town Marshall and the Water Superintendent for the town. He also devoted his time as an officer at the Lewis County Juvenile detention center, following that he was a guidance counselor at Green Hill School.
Outside of his professional life, Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, reloading ammo, going to church, and mostly spending time with his family and friends, especially during the family reunions. Norman was a glorious storyteller and was the entertainment to his family and friends. He had the best stories.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, father Clarion, mother Winnie, son Edward, great grandson Benjamin and his additional brother Bill Jeffries, and sister Sugar Miles, including numerous aunts and uncles.
Norman is survived by his daughters, Pam and Robin; son, Tony; brothers, Mel, Ed, and Richard; sisters, Deborah, Vikiy, Judy, Martha and Mary; eleven grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Patches.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Providence Home Health, St Peters Hospital and Providence Centralia Hospital for their dedication in caring for Norman. A celebration of life for Norman will be held on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, 1437 S. Gold St, Centralia, Washington. Beginning at 12 PM, desserts and coffee will be provided then following with the service at 1 PM.
