Ronald Keith Beck, 76, of Centralia, passed away suddenly from a heart attack Dec. 20, 2015, at Prestige Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center. Ron was born Nov. 7, 1939 in Centralia, Washington to Edwin and Lillian (Ames) Beck. He graduated from Centralia High School and Centralia College.
Ron was an active and well respected member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, where he enjoyed spending time with his church family, serving the Lord in many ways, from being on the church leadership board to fixing the roof, plumbing and doing the Lord's work in whatever way he could. He was a kind, humble and unpretentious man, whose faith in God was of the utmost importance to him. He made mission trips to Africa, The Netherlands and shared his faith in quiet ways to those around him.
During Ron's life he was a logger, choker-setter for Weyerhaeuser and was self employed as a sheet-rocker, one of the best around. He enjoyed hiking in the Olympics in his younger years, continuously working on restoring his historic home to its original state, tending to his garden, where he grew many vegetables and where he would take seeds from his strawberries and make plants for next year's garden. He also enjoyed gold panning trips to Alaska.
Ron is survived by his two brothers, David Beck and Douglas Beck; sister, Kathy Morgan (Hal); five nieces and six nephews; many cousins and friends; especially Judie Miller, Jeanette Curtis and Greg Murphy.
He will be remembered as one of the nicest people you could ever meet.
