

Doug was such a special man and role model. He gave so generously to all those in his life. His heart was kind and his love was deep. Doug’s optimism and perseverance through all of life’s challenges made him the hero he is today. As a member of First Baptist Indian Trial Church, Doug loved the Lord and faithfully served the Lord. Doug attended North Carolina State University before beginning his fulfilling career with the Hendrick Automotive Group. Doug had a loving work family and was always loyal to his work. Doug loved spending time with his family and friends. Traveling to the beach, gardening, golfing, and bowling were some of his favorite pastimes.
Doug was born in Charlotte, NC on June 5, 1951 and was the son of Albert Douglas Winchester, Sr. (deceased) and Glennie Austin Winchester. Doug leaves behind his wife, Carla Winchester, of 32 years, daughters, Gina and Kristen, Louis Barnes, and his nephew’s children, Kailee and Trey Winchester.
The family will be receiving friends at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel on Monday, June 23, from 5:00pm till 8:00pm, and a service to celebrate his life will be held at McEwen – Mint Hill on Tuesday, June 24, at 10:00am.
