After many years of struggling with chemical dependency, Amber was so happy to be sober and was attending fall semester after being accepted at UNCC.
Amber loved and was much loved by her family and friends who are heartbroken at losing her. She brought so much joy to those whom she touched by her free spirit. When Amber loved, she loved deeply. Family meant everything to her. Amber loved music of all kinds and enjoyed playing guitar.
She was welcomed with open arms by predeceased and loving friends, Josh and Jessica and by her maternal grandparents, Ann Ward and Malcolm “Mack” Jones, paternal grandfather, Allen Scott, step-mother, Anne Kennedy and uncle, John Brett.
Amber is survived by her children Clinton and Addison Saxton, step daughter Brandy Saxton and their father, Michael Saxton of Lewisburg, Tennessee. In addition, she is survived by her grieving parents, Patricia (Tricia) & Tyrone Joplin and George (Chip) & Sonia Scott and siblings John Holliday, Alex Scott, and Carmen Joplin, grandparents Gee (Glenda) and Phil Barker and Gail Scott.
Amber is survived by loving aunts and uncles Rebecca Brett, Sonny & Mary Anne Jones, Kevin Scott & Todd Nelson, Mack & Peggy Jones, Malcom &Robin Jones, Ricky & Mary Ward, Staton & Marlene Sholar, Amy & Chuck Taylor, Adam Scott, and Zack & Lauren Scott, Tim & Courtney Barker.
Amber is also survived by her cousins Cole Jones, Ian Brett, Madilyn & Owen Andrews, Kyle & Ellie Barker
Amber’s spirit will forever be with us. She was a warrior for the helpless and a champion for all animals, especially loved pit bulls whom she believed were often simply victims of cruelty. Her beloved dog, Tiger is waiting for at the Rainbow Bridge.
The thunder you hear is probably Amber convincing other angels to move furniture (and harps) around. She didn’t keep things or herself in one place too long.
