

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the W.G. Hefner VA Chapel, Building 19, with Reverend Dean Tuberville and Chaplain Ethel Bamberg-Revis officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
Mr. Torres was born August 24, 1950 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Reverend Angel M. Torres, Sr. and Ana Zayas-Torres. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country as a medic during the Vietnam War. Mr. Torres was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal for his valiant service. He retired with over twenty-seven years of service with the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the APWU East Bay Area Local 47, Walnut Creek, CA.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Hilda S. Torres of the home; three children, Dagmar M. Torres of Charlotte, NC; Capt. Angel M. Torres, III (USMC) and his wife, Natalie of Irvine, CA, and Victor A. Torres of Matthews, NC; two grandchildren, Maximo D. Torres and Lucas B. Torres; two sisters; and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to VFW Post 2423, 100 VFW Lane, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
